We Create Meaningful Moments Every Day

The Meaningful Moments Program

The Meaningful Moments Program is a complete-person approach to care and engagement driven by Walnut Valley’s mission to find joy and light in even the most challenging of situations. Despite the hardships that accompany dementia, we can still find meaningful moments every single day. This program goes above and beyond a generic activity calendar and focuses on engaging the individual in a purposeful way.

Compassionate cuisine

We understand the human desire for favorite foods and the physiological need for nutrition and hydration. It’s an important part of our social being and daily life. We have worked to design a philosophy and approach to dining that is able to adjust throughout the day to meet the many differing needs of each resident and serve food when they are ready to eat.

Health and wellness

Our philosophy on providing care to those with Alzheimer’s and other related dementias has always been to focus on the individual resident and maintaining their dignity. There can be many challenges when battling this disease and these challenges differ from person to person. The more we understand the individual, the more meaningful care we can provide.

Who We Serve

We serve residents living with different types of debilitating illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia, Parkinson’s, Lewy body, and many others. We provide 24-hour nursing care, which allows residents to age in a safe place while maintaining treatments such as sliding-scale insulin management. In addition, we cater to our residents’ abilities, focusing on what they are able to accomplish instead of what they can no longer accomplish. This approach allows us to engage memory care residents while maintaining their dignity and allowing them to thrive.
